It’s a wrap! NeighborWorks® Boise’s 40th Rake Up Boise™ is officially in the books. As we move into the Thanksgiving holiday, we’re filled with gratitude for the thousands of volunteers who grabbed a rake, hit the town, and showed up for their neighbors. We’re humbled to continue this beloved fall tradition. Over the past four decades, more than 22,000 yards have been raked and nearly half a million leaf bags filled.
One recipient shared, “They did a fantastic job—took the weeds out and everything! I’m almost 90 years old, and they have done such an amazing job. I’m so grateful for the volunteers and their wonderful help.”
This year, 301 volunteer teams participated. One team came from Meridian Technical Charter School’s National Honor Society.
The team captain said, “Our crew spent the day raking, bagging, laughing, and helping our Boise neighbors get their yards ready for winter. It’s one of our favorite traditions, and we love sponsoring a team every year! There’s nothing like serving the community, making memories, and turning yards of leaves into piles of smiles.”
As we close out this milestone year, we’re reminded that Rake Up Boise™ is so much more than a day of yard work—it’s a testament to what happens when a community chooses to care for one another.
Thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, teams, and community partners for keeping this tradition alive for 40 incredible years. We can’t wait to see you again next fall!
