Provide valuable short-term support for several NeighborWorks Boise events throughout the year. Volunteers help with set up, take down, making/returning phone calls, data entry, social media management, and hands-on help. These events include:
- Homebuyer Education classes (monthly)
- Idaho Gives (May)
- Paint The Town (June)
- National Night Out (August)
- Rake Up Boise (November)
- Avenues for Hope (December)
This Fall 2017 our Service-Learning Students (Samantha and Hhristina) and Interns (Janet and Cerena) from BSU increased our young people’s motivation and sense of belonging by being peer mentors who build community and created a safe place. At the same time, they developed core values of helpfulness, fairness, personal responsibility, and respect for others.
The After-school Program is a enrichment program designed specifically for use at one of our multifamily complex for an out-of-school place to hang. This is often the only time kids get to have between the overlapping times with working parents.
