Do you offer rental counseling?

What are the steps from there? What does the process look like from beginning to end?

A Housing Counselor will reach out via phone or email to schedule an appointment and send you an intake packet with more information. We will ask you to submit income documentation at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to help us better assess your financial situation. Counseling sessions last one to two hours and can be virtual or in-person. Hours are flexible, but generally, appointments can be scheduled Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pm. After meeting and creating a personalized Action Plan with the next steps, we will continue to follow up with you as needed until you reach your goal.

What will we learn and cover when being coached?

Each session is with a HUD-certified Housing Counselor. We will create a realistic budget, pull a credit report, go over tips to improve scores or resolve issues, and create an Action Plan to identify the next steps to reach your goals. During Pre-Purchase Counseling, we will also discuss mortgage readiness, how much you can afford for a house payment, and provide referrals for lenders, realtors, and grant programs for first-time homebuyers.
