Green Building Practices

Green building benefits generations. It is the practice of creating healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, and maintenance.

Healthy Homes

A home should be a healthy environment. We are working to provide products that help protect you and local eco systems.

Clean Air

The air you breathe when you're in your home is just as important as the food you feed your body. We're working to keep the air in your home safe by sealing, filtering in the fresh air intake, and circulating.

Water Conservation

Water is a vital source of all life on earth. We are helping consumers conserve it - for their own utility, bills and for the planet.

Energy Conservation

We preserve energy by intentionally designing homes with efficient heating systems, solar readiness, and insulation improvements to reduce energy consumption.

NeighborWorks ® Boise is one of two Nonprofit Energy Star Certified builder in Idaho. We build to Energy Star Certified homes and Indoor Air Quality plus standards. These features come standard with our homes. We believe the air you breath is just as important as the food you eat.

Indoor Air Quality Improvements

What does it take to earn an  Indoor airPLUS label?

Every Indoor airPLUS home must first earn the ENERGY STAR Certified Home label, the trusted symbol of energy efficiency.
Additional home design and construction features are included in the Indoor airPLUS label to help protect homes from airborne contaminants. These features stop air pollutants at the source and properly seal and ventilate the home.

The home’s energy performance and key indoor air quality features are verified by an independent third-party inspector to ensure NeighborWorks and our partners have met all of EPA’s rigorous guidelines.

Saving Water Energy

WaterSense is a perfect example of how saving water saves energy, WaterSense labeled showerheads allow consumers to enjoy a satisfying shower while saving water, energy, and money. By replacing just one showerhead with a WaterSense labeled model, the average family can save the amount of water that it takes to wash 70 loads of laundry and conserve enough energy to power a home for 13 days every year!
