Yes. However, we will require new teams to participate in training to help ensure quality standards are met.

Prepping and painting a home is a lot of work! We recommend teams be made up of at least 10 people.

: Contact paintthetown@nwboise.org to be put on a volunteer list. We will do our best to assign you to teams who would like extra help.

: No - we recommend that you split up the project into multiple visits. Paint The Town™ volunteer teams are responsible for the following:

• Preparing the house for paint (taping and covering windows and other areas, removing dust, loose paint, and debris)
• Applying primer to bare wood spots & caulk for appearance and energy conservation
• Painting the house exterior
• Clean up

Thanks for volunteering! Mid May you will be notified of your assignment. We will give team captains the contact info for their homeowner. You will then reach out directly to your homeowner and find a time to meet them and visit the house to assess the prep work that needs to be done. The kick-off event/ paint and supplies pick-up party is Saturday, June 4. Please come and kick off this exciting event! Painting can be done anytime throughout the week, as long as arrangements are made with the homeowner.

: Paint The Town™ provides primer and paint. Your paint kit will also include paint trays, shop towels, a bucket, roller frames and naps, brushes, drop cloths, tape, caulk, caulking gun, and trash bags.

Teams may want to bring: Wire brushes, ladders, pruning tools to trim shrubbery, spray bottles, extra buckets, wire hangers to hang buckets on ladders, brooms, lawn equipment, ropes to tie back larger bushes, hammer, screwdriver, pliers, nails to tack trim back in place, small screws to re-attach gutters and downspouts, rakes, to get debris away from foundation and porch footings, putty knives, sponges to clean wet paint off windows and smooth out caulk, and ice, cooler, water, snacks

This fee helps cover some of the administrative costs of organizing this event.

Assignments will be sent to team captains by May 13, 2022. Paint and supplies pick up will be June 4, 2022, at NeighborWorks® Boise’s office parking lot: 3380 W Americana Terrace.
