Founded Paint The Town™ & Rake Up Boise™
NWB was formed in the Vista Neighborhood in response to an assessment of Boise's deteriorating neighborhoods. We identified needs and created solutions – including Paint The Town™ and Rake Up Boise™ to help low-income seniors and disabled homeowners maintain their homes.
1990
Homebuyer Education & Coaching
NWB developed over 200 affordable rental units and offered resident services, increasing their stability and opportunity for self-sufficiency. Implemented a Homebuyer Education Program and Prepurchase Counseling.
1998
Home Loans
Became certified by U.S. Treasury Department as Idaho's first Community Development Financial Institution. NWB partnered with the City of Boise, IHFA, and U.S.D.A. Rural Development to provide mortgage loan opportunities to underserved Idahoans.
2000
Foreclosure Prevention
We worked with the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program to develop a comprehensive foreclosure prevention program.
2012
Rehab
NWB reactivated our Acquisition and Rehabilitation of Single-Family Homes Program – providing affordable housing with energy-saving improvements to low-to-moderate-income (LMI) homebuyers and renters.
2013
Financial Capability Coaching
We implemented Financial Capability Coaching to help people work toward reducing debt, establishing savings and repairing credit.
2015
Pocket Neighborhoods™
NWB added Single Family Development and Homebuilding Programs to provide new, energy-efficient, close-in homes for LMI homebuyers called Pocket Neighborhoods™.
2016
Home Ownership
NWB became a NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center℠, joining our counseling, education, and lending departments together.
2017

We partnered with Wells Fargo as the hub for the statewide NeighborhoodLIFT® Program
