NeighborWorks Boise Announces Leadership Changes

Bud_Compher_Jr_FINALNeighborWorks Boise and its Board of Directors have appointed Bud Compher as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective October 12, 2015. Compher will replace outgoing CEO Joe Swenson.

“This board recognizes and appreciates Joe Swenson’s contribution to NeighborWorks Boise,” said NeighborWorks Boise Board Chair Erin Sorensen. “Under his leadership the organization made important changes to establish a solid foundation for NeighborWorks Boise’s future.”

As Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, Compher will work with the NeighborWorks Boise executive team to facilitate an orderly leadership transition while overseeing the non-profit organization’s ongoing service to the community. Swenson and Director of Accounting Ed Loggins both left the organization Oct. 12.

Compher joined NeighborWorks Boise as the Director of Real Estate Development earlier this year. He has 23 years of experience including 13 years managing a non-profit housing program. He has developed single-family housing throughout Idaho in conjunction with state and federal programs.

“With recent key hires at NeighborWorks Boise, we have a leadership team in place that is capable of increasing our impact and I look forward to working together to execute the next phase of our transformation plan,” said Compher. “With such a talented team in place, NeighborWorks Boise will continue to open doors in our community.”
